Embroidered kurtas and kurtis — thread, mirror, bead and sequin worked on cotton, cotton silk and georgette.

Some carry it as a yoke or a sleeve, others across the body. Where the work is done stitch by stitch rather than by machine it is hand embroidery, and the small differences between two pieces of one design are the point rather than a fault.
